yes, rather like baking a cake and waiting for the oven to cook it, but worth the wait…the aroma…good enough to eat…almost…excellent article…

hey, marguerite .. yup, simple pleasures .. that’s what i look for .. by the way, don’t know if you do this, but if you chop those tall weeds up into smaller bits, the compost works faster, and it’s easier to toss around (lol) .. although, having said that, it’s more often frank who’s doing the tossing .. bless his heart .. and we’re not regular tossers .. usually once a season .. or when it gets full .. i’m sure your compost is a thing of beauty .. and magic ..

A working compost pile is a thing of beauty. We just finished putting together a two bin composter and filling it up quickly. I got a little over excited and piled it full of tall weeds, almost impossible to mix now. and you just reminded me I have straw in the garage I should throw in. the simple pleasures of gardening are the best.

My compost heap doesn’t look as nice as yours- it looks more like a trash heap- but it does make nice earth.
